You Are There

This was one of my favorite programs in the 1950s: It took a historical event and inserted a modern newsroom and reporters to report on it.

You Are There

The programs were great and at the end of the program, after Cronkite summarizes what happened in the preceding event, he reminded viewers, "What sort of day was it? A day like all days, filled with those events that alter and illuminate our times... all things are as they were then, and you were there.":

On to where I am now. It is starting out as a nice day. Maybe thundershowers later but for now - great.
